Talking about math concepts and doing math activities at home is very important for children’s early mathematical development. How can families inject more math into their children’s lives? By observing which activities naturally encourage large amounts of numerical and spatial talk we can better design interventions to increase such talk.

We’re currently finding that both parents and children use the most number talk while playing card and board games.
